One key undertaking of the Saudi Arabian government is its North-South Line project, planned to construct a connection 2,400 km long between Dammam and the mining regions in the northwest of the country. It is planned for freight trains with 32.4-tonne axle loads, at top speeds of 110 km/h, as well as passenger trains with 30-tonne axle load and speeds of 160 km/h, to use this line.
Owing to the successful completion of deliveries for the project section CTW 200, RAIL.ONE has now also won the contract for the following project CTW 400. On behalf of the Saudi construction concern Al Ayuni, RAIL.ONE is delivering an additional 850,000 heavy-load sleepers, type HHS 32.5 (AR 06) for new construction of the North-South Line.
Earlier, between 2007 to 2009, RAIL.ONE won the contract, together with its joint-venture partner (Office 15 of the Chinese Railways Construction Corporation, CRCC), to manufacture and deliver 850,000 main-track sleepers, as well as approx. 78,000 linear meters of turnout sleepers, for project sections CTW 100 to 300 for this line.

After being filled with high-strength concrete, the forms are stored for curing in insulated chambers that are exactly climate-controlled. In addition, the temperature of the constituent materials for the concrete is monitored and, if necessary, regulated with effective cooling systems.
